Getting started with Inshore
Updated August 18, 2026
This guide gets you from a fresh install to your first logged catch in Inshore.
Steps
- Download Inshore from the App Store or Google Play.
- Create your account with an email and password, then confirm the verification email Inshore sends you.
- Open the Home tab. A quick screen walks you through the two things Inshore is built around: a spot is a place you fish, and a log is a visit to that spot.
- Tap the Log button, wherever you are. Inshore either matches you to a spot you've already saved or creates a new one on the spot. See Logging a spot for the full flow.
- Add your first catch to the log: species, count, and any notes, then save. Inshore records the tide and weather conditions for that moment automatically.
Common questions
Do I need an account to use Inshore? Yes. An account keeps your spots and logs saved and synced across devices.
What if I don't catch anything on my first trip? Log the visit anyway. Catches are optional on any log, and an empty trip is still useful history.
Where do I go from here? See Logging a spot for the full logging flow, or watch the app overview video.
