Adding catches to logs

Updated August 18, 2026

This guide covers how to add catches to a log, whether you want the exact details on one fish or a quick bundle for a big session.

Steps

  1. Open a log and tap to add a catch.
  2. Pick a species from the picker. Tap the star next to any species to mark it a favorite. Favorites sort to the top, so the species you catch most are quick to find.
  3. Set the quantity. Leave it at 1 for a single fish, or bump it up to log a bundle, like "10 trout," in one entry instead of ten.
  4. Add details, if you want them. Tap the catch to expand it and add an exact length and weight. Skip this for a quick bundle entry.
  5. Add more catches to the same log as you go, or remove one if you added it by mistake.

Common questions

Can I log one catch in detail and another as a quick count, in the same visit? Yes. Each catch you add is its own entry, so a detailed redfish and a "10 trout" bundle can sit in the same log.

How do favorites help? They keep the species you catch most at the top of the picker, so you're not scrolling a long list every time.

Do I have to enter a length or weight? No. Both are optional. Add them when you want the detail, skip them for a quick bundle entry.
