Using Inshore offline
Updated August 18, 2026
This guide covers exactly what works in Inshore without signal, what needs a connection, and how things catch up once you're back in range.
What works offline
- Viewing every spot, log, and catch you've already saved.
- Creating, editing, and deleting spots, logs, and catches. Changes save immediately and sync once you're back in range.
- Browsing the Tides tab, using the last tide data it fetched for your location.
- Changing settings like theme and Spot Matching Distance.
What needs a connection
- Signing in, signing up, or resetting your password.
- Changing your password or email, deleting your account, or signing out.
- Viewing any map, a spot's full-screen map or the map view in the Spots tab.
- Fetching new tide and weather conditions for a log. If you save a log offline, you can still enter conditions by hand, Inshore fills in the rest automatically once you're back online.
- Adding a new photo to a spot.
Map tiles need a connection. Your spot, log, and catch data doesn't.
Common questions
Will I lose anything I logged offline? No. It saves locally right away and syncs automatically the next time you have a connection.
How do I know if something is still waiting to sync? Look for the sync status indicator near the Settings icon.
Can I still see my spots on the map with no signal? No. Map tiles need a connection, so both the Spots tab map and a spot's full-screen map are unavailable offline. Switch to the Spots list view to see your saved spots without a connection.
